A little about me...
I started DEVINE DESIGN LLC as soon as my youngest started preschool. I didn't even know I wanted to go back to work, but in hindsight, it was inevitable.
Renovating old homes is in my blood. I grew up watching my parents restore and remodel beautiful, historic homes. They knew how to strike a balance between old and new: my dad designed spectacular chef’s kitchens and my mom made sure the kitchen seamlessly blended into the house, keeping the historic integrity intact.
More importantly, growing up, our home somehow always became the central gathering place for me and my three siblings and all our friends. Plus a few cats and dogs! Our home just felt welcoming.
I can see many of my friends and neighbors here in the Twin Cities struggling with the same thing I did in my first home here: they love their old home, but it is just not working for their family. And I know that is something that can be fixed. There’s always a way!
I believe that a truly wonderful home is way more than a house that looks good; it matters how it feels. It should be beautiful, yes, but it should be authentically your own and comfortable too. Your home is your safe space, your respite, your place to nestle in with your loved ones.
It is also the place where you can welcome family and friends to celebrate milestones or just toast to friendship. It's the one space that tells the story of your life to others. You want it to represent you well - and, more than anything, make you happy.
And in order to do all of those things, you have to be able to afford it…and still go about living your life afterwards.
In 2019 I joined forces with my favorite carpenter who’s now my partner in life and in this business. Nick is the guy you’ll see every day during the project, making sure things go smoothly - and inevitably becoming your kids’ and pets’ best friend. His attention to detail is incomparable and his personality is the heart of this business.
If your house doesn't feel like home or doesn't work well for your family, let us help you fix that. It would be our privilege if you let us into your life…and I promise we’ll make it even better. Together.
